Let's consider that we could go to one summer vacation camp between Camp Big Apple, Ranch West Camp, Head Start Splash. The aspects I want to compare and contrast educational curriculum and how does the students live in the camp.
First of all 'Camp Big Apple' is an intensive academic English camp. It focuses on students' vocabulary and math skills with goals of preparing for English language tests such as SAT. This camp maybe helpful for students who are preparing English language tests. However I think this camp's curriculum is only focussing on English language tests.
On the other hand, 'Ranch West Camp' believes students could learn best when they are studying what they want to learn. Students could choose between 9 subjects to learn Englishh. I believe that it may help you while studying subjects you want to. However the curriculum may feel a little bit narrow. Also 'Head Start Splash' makes students study materials used during one semester ihnj a certified 'International' school. Also they have the most outdoor activities during the camp than other 2 camps.
I also think that situations that students are in are also important. In 'Camp Big Apple', students get to stay in dormitaries. They will meet students around the world and manage indepedently. In contrast, living in dormitaries could be terrible if the students don't manage to get along with each other. In addition, 'Ranch West Camp' put students in home-staying situations during the camp. This could help understanding other family's cultures and customs however students may collide with the home staying family. Last, 'Head Start Splash' could bring your family members to live with you and you live in a apartment near the beach. This action will make students organized but students will lack of independence.
Although I had listed 2 aspects, I want to focus especially on the curriculum of the camps. 'Camp Big Apple' is a camp focussing on English language tests such as SAT. However 'Ranch West Camp' believes that we could learn English the best while studying what you want to do. I also agree with 'Ranch West Camp.' Lastly 'Head Start Splash' is a camp which learns the same curriculum as 'International Schools'.
I think the most appropriate camp for me to go with my classmates will be the 'Ranch West Camp.' Although the curriculum may be narrow, doing stuff that is interesting always helps in learning a second language. Also home-stays may occur conflicts. However I think learning that each person is different is also a learning too. I will go to 'Ranch West Camp' if I had to choose one camp from those above.

Fun Post - Balloons!!
Hello Everyone!
Today I am going to show you the one time favorite toy!!
Balloons!!!
They come in all different colors and shapes and we could make things out of it!
As we all know balloons are made from rubber and we could blow air or helium inside it.Let me show you some pictures of it!
These balloons look very pretty!! Don't they?
They are used in various occasions such as birthday parties
and in many festivals!
They are unique and a little bit childish.
But it is never late to return to being a child
Skills Post 2 - Summarizing and Paraprasing
Hello Everyone!!
Today I am going to post about summarizing and paraphasing.
I'm going to summarize an article about 'Shark Attacks'.
Also I'm going to parphrase an article about 'Bear Attacks'.
<Summarizing 'Shark Attacks'>
When people go swimming in the ocean it may be possible that you will be attacked by a shark. However it is very unlikely. It is more likely that you will be struck by a lightning. Even though you are attacked the chances that you will killed is less then 10%. In addition you are more likely to drown than to be attacked by a shark. The chances that you will be attacked by a shark is about 1 in 11million. The chances to drown are more higher than that. Still, if you are afraid of shark attacks, you could prevent it by traveling in groups because sharks are more likely to attack solitary swimmers, and stay out of water if you have a cut because sharks could smell blood very well.
<Paraphrasing 'Bear Attacks'>
According to the Yellowstone National Park in the U.S you are more likely to drown than being attacked by a bear. The statistics were shown that 101 people died from drowning but only 5 peopole were killed by grizzly bears between the period 1839 and 1994.

Now I will choose an article that I am interested in and summarize and paraphrase.
<Summarizing 'Kim named 8th highest paid female athlete'>
Korean figure skating star, Kim Yuna has been ranked the 8th amoung the top 10 highest paid female athletes in the world by the magazine, Forbes. She earned about $10million. The publication introduced Yuna as the most famous female athlete in Korea. The statistics is done during the period between 2010 July and 2011 July covering endorsements, appearance fees, prize money, licensing income and salary. Kim Yuna is the only winter sport athlete on the list.
<Paraphrasing 'Kim named 8th highest paid female athlete'>
According to the Forbes magazine, Vancouver Olympics Figure Skating gold medalist, Kim Yuna earned 8th place by earning $10million the 7th place was taken by Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova who earned $25million.

What The World Eats
Today we're going to see some photos of the world's food. I'm going to compare some of the countries
and compare and contrast them. I wanted to compare food by their country's wealth.
This is an photo of a family of America. This is a family from Caifornia, one of the center in USA. The food expensure for one week is $159.18. The family's favorite foods are beef stew, berry yogurt sundae, clam chowder, ice cream. If we see the picture we could see meat, fruits, sauces, snacks and vegetables etc.. There are variety and lots of foods in a well living country such as America. The food looks nuitritous and tasty.

This is a family of Chad(which is located in Africa.) in the Breidjing Camp. Their food expensure for one week is about $1.23. America spends 100~200 times more money on food. This family's favorite food is soup with sheep meat. Can you imagine this kind of life? When you look inside the picture they have grain, few vegetables and a little water. The food is so scarce in this country!! I think the food expensure is really different by countries and we should help people who are starving just because they are born in a poor country.
Now I have two pictures of food. The first picture shows that Americans eat lots of healthy fruits and vegatables and also snacks. They spend about $100 a week for their food. They can eat many foods. However Chad has so small amount of food. They only spend $1 of money for their food. They only have small amount of nuitritous foods. Also they don't have a variety of food selection. The food could be very different by countries.

Writing Activity - Chain stories
In writing class we passed around our notebooks and added sentences to the stoy. My story was really awkard and funny when I had the notebook back. The story starts like this...
A girl named Soram bought a Galaxy S2. Then she changed her name in to YeonSoo, to make sure nobody will know Soram have bought the Galaxy S2. However, the real YeonSoo found ou that Soram changed as the same name and that she had a Galaxy S2. The real YeonSoo was furious about that and got very mad at Soram. She said Soram is very bad friend to her other friensd. That story rolled all over the school and Soram heard that. At lunch time she was surprised that YeonSoo had a Galaxy S2. But her friend also had Galaxy S2. So YeonSoo was so mad she changed her phone again to Optimus 2X. Then, Soram purposly broke the Optimus 2X. YeonSoo was burning mad and decided to murder Soram. WHen they were on a field trip she stole a pistol and put it in her backpack. She aimed to Soram and shooted. But it was a 'nuclear launch' so they both died.
Funny and strange story........ Sometimes it won't make sense but my ending was published by "BOYS" so my ending was expectantly, Soram and YeonSoo died together. The END!!

Skill Post 1
Hello Everyone!!
If we consider that we could go to one summer vacation camp between Camp Big Apple, Ranch West Camp, Head Start Splash. We need to compare and contrast all the advantages and disadvantages of all 3 camps. The perspectives I want to compare or contrast are the focus of the education curriculum, and how does the student live in the camp.(Dormitaries, home-stays, apartments)
First of all 'Camp Big Apple' is an intensive academic English camp. It focuses on students' vocabulary and math skills with goals preparing for English language tests such as SAT. This camp maybe beneficial to students who are preparing for English language tests, however I think this camp's curriculum is only focussing on English language tests. Also students live in dormitaries in 'Camp Big Apple.' We could meet other students around the world and manage independently. On the other hand, living in dormitaries could be terrible if the students can't get along with each other.
Next, 'Head Start Splash' makes students study the materials used during one semester in a certified "International" school. Also they have the most outdoor activities while during this camp. Having many outdoor activities will increase interesting activities through out the camp but many outdoor activities sometimes equals less studying. In addition Students stays with at least one parent in an apartment near the camp. This could help to make the student's lives organized however this camp may lack independence.
Lastly, 'Ranch West Camp' has a belief that students could learn English the most effectively if they do something that interests them. Students could choose one subject they want to study between 9 subjects. I believe that it could help when you study subjects you want to, however it the curriculum may feel a little bit narrow. In addition students stay in a home-stay situation during the camp, so they could meet a new family. They could learn family's traditions or cultures as well. In contrast students could collide with the home-stay family because each people have experienced different things as they live.
Now I have compared all three camps. There are disadvantages and advantages to each camp. I think the most appropriate camp for me will be 'Ranch West Camp'. Although the curriculum may be narrow doing stuff that is interesting always helps in learning a langauge. Also home-stays may occur conflicts however I think learning that each person is different is learning too. I will go to 'Ranch West Camp' if I had to choose one camp from the above.

Assignment 1
Hello Everyone!!
I'm Americano Latte and welcome to my blog ;
Containing Faces Including Ours.
Let me introduce myself. My interests are listening to music.
I especially like k-pop. I mostly like all the Korean singers.
I like fun and exciting musioc. I really hope that Korea would improve
its entertainment quality.
My personality is somewhat okay. I'm kind when the others are but,
if others aren't nice then hatred will build up and I will sometimes explode.
Hopefully I explode once in several years.
My favorite movie is 'Harry Potter'. I like it because it is exciting, and I have read
the book 'Harry Potter' as well so it is fascinating to compare the movie and the book.
It's fun when people fly on broomsticks and charm spells and do special wizard stuff.
I'm sorry that the adventure ended this summer.
My plans for this blog is to post about Korean Pop Stars on fun post and this camp.
